Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, Georgia Geomatics Group as a Survey Party Chief.

Under limited direction, directs a field survey crew in performing construction, topographic, hydrographic, boundary, right-of-way, control, and special purpose surveys for a client or in support of any of the various technical services of the company.

Ability to use all survey instruments, keep well-organized field notes and other records, and perform all associated mathematical calculations.

Utilizes all survey instruments and tools, calculator, field books, plans and plats.

Based on broader experience and knowledge, is generally assigned to the more complex surveys; is able to exercise more discretion/judgment, and function with greater independence.

Education:

High school diploma (or equivalent) plus six years related experience OR an associate's degree in a related technical field plus four years related experience is required. Experience should include two years as Party Chief or similar role. Interest in pursuing a Geomatics degree highly desirable.

Special Skills:

Must possess strong math skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to give training and work direction to others. Ability to interpret legal descriptions and engineering drawings.

Professional Registrations:

CST Level IV and/or LSIT preferred.
