Transport Communications Systems - Technology Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager

Due to an expanding workload, we are currently seeking Technology Project managers / Assistance Project Managers for our Transport Communications Systems Practice.

We advise and support on everything during a project lifecycle from initial concept/feasibility, design, construction, testing & commissioning to contract procurement. So, you can look forward to plenty of variety from testing systems on site to exploring next generation software and developing connected vehicles.

Location: To work from one of our Birmingham / Manchester / Cardiff / Bristol / Epsom offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Managers /Assistant Project Managers:

To manage, influence and satisfy our relationship with the Client and other project participants and manage the design process, including clarifying scope, developing and maintaining MS Project resource loaded plans/estimates, Change and Risk management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or equivalent with relevant professional registration or potential to apply;
• A working knowledge of the design process for technology/ highway solutions to applicable standards;
• Construction sector Project Management experience, including developing and maintaining MS Project plans, for resource loaded estimates, Time, Cost, Quality and scope control;
• Working Knowledge of ECC form of Contract, including the roles and responsibilities of the defined participants;
• Project Management qualification or working towards APM/PMI or equivalent;
• To ensure that the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety aspects of the design and construction process are central to what we do;
• Client focussed and able to develop effective relationships with Clients. Flexibility for occasional short periods working away from normal office location for site inspections and surveys including at night during Temporary traffic management.


DESIREABLE

• Previous experience as Project Manager under ECC form of Contract
• Full Driving Licence
• Experience of managing design or construction of Motorway or Highways technology projects or similar transferable skills;
• National Highways Sector Scheme, Sector 8 qualified (QS, AO, ECS Card) and/or;
•Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card at Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) or equivalent.
