Faithful+Gould has developed an overall “Accelerated Growth” Business Plan for the next three years with aggressive targets for increases in Profitability, Revenue and Headcount. It is assessed that approximately 75% of this growth will be derived from development of key Global Sectors which include Energy, Corporate Real Estate, Pharmaceutical, Aviation and Manufacturing.
As a result of continued growth and success, we are seeking a Power and Nuclear Lead for the USA, located in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. We have been operating in the North American market for over four decades, providing key project management and/or project controls consultancy advice for key blue chip clients. The key objective of this role will be to significantly grow our business through engagement with existing clients and developing new key clients across the East Coast.
Faithful+Gould Inc. is part of the Atkins Group. Atkins is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a global Energy business. This Energy Business includes both Nuclear and Power groups. This role would also act as main liaison and support to the Atkins Nuclear Group in Charlotte, North Carolina.


Typical duties and responsibilities of this job include:
• Utilizes existing professional contacts, association networking, and sector expertise to grow our existing client service offering as well as gaining new clients/accounts.
• Provides business development support to the Atkins Charlotte office and Eastern USA generally, acting as lead interface with local clients and related project team members.
• Develops and implements business development plans and activities working with Service Heads.
• Develops and implements regional strategic objectives aligned with the company’s strategic initiatives.
• Ensures the Company Risk Assessment Process is utilized, and resulting risk management plans are implemented, in coordination with legal and finance.
• Maintains personal chargeability in excess of 50%.
In order to support the significant growth projected for this sector in the next three years, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Extensive management experience and expertise in the Nuclear & Power sectors.
• Proven knowledge of the USA Nuclear & Power market, including a substantial business development track record and an established network of contacts in the industry vital to developing and maintaining accounts.
• Extensive experience working for a Construction Project Management Consultancy or Contractor. Exposure to both aspects is highly desirable, but a consultancy background is a key requirement.
• Proven Knowledge of project Management and Project Controls best practices
• Ability to lead multi-faceted projects in an executive capacity and command client respect in a billable position.
• Proven success recruiting, engaging, developing, managing and retaining highly motivated people.
• Commercial acumen to assess opportunities and lead others in the relevant commercial and bidding processes delivering growth
• A high level of self-management, commitment and trust with an affinity with underlying company values and an approach that permits effective communication and collaboration with Senior Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or related field required;
with a minimum of ten years’ experience in a similar capacity in the Nuclear or Power Sector.
• Active participation in local association chapters, the respect of the local community as an industry leader, and a verifiable network of strong industry contacts necessary for continued and expanded success.
• An enthusiastic and resilient attitude; the drive to achieve and maximize opportunity.
