As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital’s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing, and operate and maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.

We are currently looking for a Security Operative to assist in the efficient operation of the Dartford Depot by providing a professional and efficient security service

Responsibilities:

• Operating the Security Control Room
• Monitoring and operating security CCTV cameras
• Undertaking the transport of cyclist across the River Crossing
• Patrolling entire estate on foot and in a vehicle
• Responding to all security related incidents
• Manage the production and issue/retrieve all ID cards and access control cards to staff and contractors
• Issue and retrieve all keys relating to the estate
• Process all contractor permits and check contractor personnel security records through employers where necessary 
• Check, secure and unlock all office facilities at the end and start of each day
• Manage abnormal load accounts at night only
• Manage Toll booth ‘float’
• Accurately maintain security procedure audit trails
• Order security related peripherals when required
• Ensure all security policies and procedures are robustly applied
• Provide a secure and safe environment for staff, contractors and visitors to work and visit
• Assisting with when required Cash box Collection
• Provide incident reports as and when required
• Direct liaison with postal services on a daily basis 
• Maintain staff vehicle database
• Any other duties, commensurate with the position, as required by the Depot Manager or Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications, skills & experience:

• Previous security experience preferred
• Knowledge of a specific security discipline (desired)
• Hold or be willing to attain Security Industry Authority (SIA) accreditation (desired)

Individuals applying for this position need to hold a valid UK Driving Licence (Minimum C1+E).  Individuals will alo need to on a rotating shift pattern to provide a 24/365 coverage
