Senior Safety / Systems Assurance Consultant

Atkins is one of the leading rail safety consultancies in Australia providing Safety and Systems Assurance, Systems Engineering, RAMS, Independent Safety Assessment and Accreditation services. We are involved in major transport projects throughout Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane including Metro, Light Rail, Rolling Stock and other PPP projects.

Due to increased demand for Atkins services we are seeking high calibre staff to join our Sydney office, helping to support our clients realise their vision and achieve success.

Your role will be based in Sydney working alongside our experienced team of consultants to deliver technical services to clients or as an integrated member of our client’s own project teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

• Technical leadership in the following areas:

 Engineering Systems Safety Management

 Safety Processes / SIL Determination / Safety Integrity

 Safety Risk Management

 RAMS

 Safety Management System

 Audit & Independent Safety Assessment

 Undertaking qualitative and quantitative risk assessments

 Safety Case Development

• Writing and reviewing technical reports

• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, regulations and standards in area of specialism

Essential Criteria

• Degree qualified safety professional or equivalent demonstrable experience with 5 years in Systems Assurance

• Good communication skills to interface with clients and internal stakeholders

• Affiliation with recognised professional body (e.g. IET, SaRS)

• Experience of CENELEC Standards, EN50126, EN50128 & EN50129 and iESM, CSM or equivalent

• Project Management experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Open to being mobile within Australia and the Asia Pacific region

Desirable

• Prior experience of working in the rail sector

• Experience in implementation of modern signalling systems CBTC, ETMS or Rail Systems

• Metro / GoA4

• Rolling Stock
